Corey Smith

Dr. Smith recently returned to Nebraska after over ten years living in Colorado and Maine working in primary care and teaching family medicine residents. In all, he worked in primary care for nearly two decades. Dr. Smith recently earned a certification as a Mental Performance Consultant from the Association of Applied Sports Psychology which included additional graduate classes, mentorship, and over 200 clinical hours with athletes and other performers.
He currently provides care for injured athletes on a per diem basis at MaineGeneral Sports Medicine in Augusta, Maine via telehealth. Dr. Smith is excited to work with athletes, performers, and others interested in performance enhancement in addition to those patients hoping to better cope with situational and psychological difficulties.
Dr. Smith's style is empathetic and frank speaking, goal oriented, and process based. His preferred modality of treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy with motivational interviewing and attachment rounding out his clinical orientation. In his free time, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time outside with his wife and two children, watching live music and sports, reading, and physical fitness.
