Perry Root Sr.

Perry J. Root Sr. is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and a Provisionally Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (PLADC). He received his Bachelor’s of Science from Nebraska Wesleyan University, and he received his Master’s of Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Perry has worked in the mental health and addiction fields for over 40 years.

Throughout his career, he has worked in an inpatient facility specializing in mental health and substance abuse. Perry has worked in various settings including: adult residential care, crisis intervention,

case management, and outpatient therapy serving dually diagnosed adults. Perry has also done policy and advocacy work in the areas of behavioral health and criminal justice reform.

His counseling experience ranges from treating adults who struggle with addictions and mental health challenges. He also has experience in working with the older adult population. One of his specialty areas is substance abuse. Perry provides substance abuse evaluations and recommendations. Perry is a registered service provider with the state of Nebraska, and serves as a chaplain, and a certified case manager. He offers a person-centered approach to his clients to assist them in meeting what is important to them.
