Therapy may be a good fit if you feel stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, disconnected, angry, or unsure how to handle something happening in your life. You do not need to wait until things feel unmanageable.
Some people come to therapy during a hard season. Others come because they want better coping tools, healthier relationships, or a place to talk without having to “keep it together.” Wherever you are starting from, therapy can give you space to sort through what has been weighing on you.
Compassionate Minds Therapy offers mental health and addiction support in Omaha, including individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, EMDR therapy, Brainspotting therapy, play therapy, substance abuse therapy and evaluations, medication management, PCIT, and sports therapy.
Different providers offer different areas of care. If you are not sure which service you need, that is okay. You can share what is going on when you reach out, and the team can help point you in the right direction.
Yes. Compassionate Minds Therapy provides care for children, adolescents, and adults.
For children and families, support may include child therapy, play therapy, family therapy, or PCIT. Adults may seek individual therapy, couples therapy, EMDR, Brainspotting, substance abuse therapy, medication management, or another service based on their needs.
You do not need to have it all figured out before contacting the office. If you already have a provider in mind, you can request that person. If not, you can share a few details about what you are looking for and ask for help finding a good fit.
Finding the right therapist can feel a little like finding the right pair of shoes. Credentials matter, of course, but fit matters too.
New clients can request an appointment through the online appointment form. You will be asked for basic contact information, the type of service you are looking for, your preferred appointment timing, and any comments or questions you want to share.
Existing clients can use the client portal to schedule with their provider.
Your first appointment is usually a chance to talk about what brought you in, what you have been experiencing, and what you hope will feel different. Your therapist may ask about your history, current stressors, symptoms, relationships, past treatment, and goals.
You do not have to share everything at once. Therapy is a process, not a pop quiz.
Telehealth may be available depending on the provider, service, clinical fit, and current scheduling options. If you are interested in virtual appointments, mention that when you request an appointment.
Some types of care may be better suited for in-person sessions. Your provider can help you decide what makes sense.
Compassionate Minds Therapy offers several therapy options, including individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, EMDR, Brainspotting, play therapy, PCIT, substance abuse therapy, and sports therapy.
Each approach supports different needs. For example, EMDR and Brainspotting are often used for trauma or distressing experiences. Play therapy and PCIT may support younger children and caregivers. Couples and family therapy focus on relationship patterns, communication, and support within the home.
Yes. Medication management may include an evaluation, treatment planning, follow-up appointments, prescription management, medication adjustments, and monitoring for side effects.
Some clients use medication management on its own. Others combine it with therapy for additional support.
Compassionate Minds Therapy can bill insurance when applicable. Coverage depends on your plan, benefits, deductible, copay, coinsurance, and whether the service is covered.
It is a good idea to contact your insurance company before your first appointment to confirm your mental health benefits. Asking early can help prevent surprises later.
Compassionate Minds Therapy asks for at least 24 hours’ notice when canceling or rescheduling an appointment. Missed appointments or late cancellations may result in a fee.
If something comes up, contact the office as soon as possible.
Compassionate Minds Therapy is not an emergency crisis service. If you are in immediate danger or may harm yourself or someone else, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts or emotional distress in the United States, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
