SHE/HER/HERS PLMHP, NCC

Joni Kruntorad is a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner and a National Certified Counselor. She acquired her Master of Science degree with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Nebraska in Omaha. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Early Childhood Education and Family Advocacy from the University of Nebraska in Kearney.

She completed her clinical hours assisting patients with multi-occurring mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Her practicum and internship experiences took place in a 24 hours a-day, 7-days-a-week adult inpatient psychiatric facility. Utilizing Trauma Informed Care and Wellness Recovery Action Plans, she led therapy groups and one-on-one patient counseling. Her primary focus provided acute crisis management with supportive individualized interventions and safety plans.

Previous experience as an international flight attendant in the aviation industry provides Joni with the ability to ebb and flow with her client's needs while keeping safety at the forefront. She is also an active consultant for the Nebraska Department of Education, training in the Early Learning Guidelines, and Safe with You programs.

Working with clients of all ages, she especially enjoys helping clients build resilience, gain coping skills, and communicate through open loving relationships. Joni believes witnessing generational growth by working through “unfinished business” or experiencing the “aha” moment is the most rewarding gift counseling can provide.
